Niclas Damsgaard is chief strategist at the Swedish Electricity Transmission System Operator, Svenska kraftnät.

He earned a PhD in economics from the Stockholm School of Economics, with a dissertation on electricity markets.

Thereafter he spend about 15 years in consulting prior to joining Svenska kraftnät in 2017 as Senior Vice President of Market and System Development.

From consulting he also has a broad experience of other energy markets besides electricity such as gas, district heating and biofuels.
